Maintenance under way at Litvínov complex

Unipetrol is progressing with its regularly scheduled 4-year major turnaround at its 108kbd (5.4Mnta) Litvínov refinery and petrochemical complex in the Czech Republic, though a modified version to ensure safety and health of workers at the site during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Key maintenance projects include repair of the atmospheric distillation unit’s furnace, replacement of underground pipes for cooling water in the partial oxidation production unit, and service repairs of large compressors in the complex’s steam cracker.

All turnaround work is scheduled to be completed on 31 May, with production units to be gradually brought back into operation through to the 14 June.
