HPCL awards contract for Visakh refinery expansion

Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) has awarded a contract to Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) to set up a gas turbine-based captive power plant (CPP) to be added as part of HPCL’s program to expand and modernise its 8.3Mta (166Kbd) Vishakhapatnam (Visakh) refinery in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The addition of the CPP will help the refinery meet power and steam requirements necessary for its proposes expansion to 15Mta (300Kbd).
